Houston Conservatory is currently offering private lessons given by degreed professionals at its new location in the Sherman Clay Piano Store, 3133 S.W. Freeway. The Conservatory refers teachers (piano, strings, soon flute, guitar, and harp) to students interested in the Conservatory's curriculum.

Faculty and student recitals are held in the Nat Gilley Hall in the Sherman Clay facility. Guest university graduate student preparatory recitals will also be given in Nat Gilley Hall. All concerts and recitals are open to the public and are free of charge.

Gary is a very versatile pianist and improviser of classical and popular music. He has preformed and taught piano, theory, and improvisation in Houston for over thirty years. Gary attended the University of Houston, University of St. Thomas, St. Vincent's Academy and the Philadelphia Music Academy and has preformed with the Galveston Symphony, the Houston Symphony, the Houston Ballet, and the American Drama/Music Academy. He has played with Jazz Greats such as Arnette Cobb, Kirk Franklin, Steve Allen, Frankie Laine, and many others. Presently Gillispie is teaching at Sherman Clay, the Writers in the Round School, and privately.
